The issue of sexual misconduct is massive, with deep roots, thus making it challenging to eradicate. There is no one answer to this problem. However, Survivor Perspectives Consulting Group (SPCG) has worked hard on a unique solution from the Survivor's Perspective, the Front-Line Workshop. Our Uniformed Services Front-Line Sexual Trauma First Aid and Intervention Workshop has been officially approved/endorsed by the Chief Professional Conduct and Culture (CPCC) organization within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). We are proud to be included in the integrated activities CPCC is working on to unify associated culture change activities across the Department of National Defence (DND) and the CAF.
The Front-Line Workshop is currently the only proven, survivor-borne training solution that is MITE (Military Individual Training & Education) coded, meaning that the course certificate goes on file for each participant. In addition, SPCG has partnered with known experts in sexual assault advocacy and support, the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services, to create the best possible, cutting-edge tools and techniques using best practices in survivor support and culture change.
Since training more than 2000 Defence Team members on a volunteer basis, we have once again worked through the process, now as contractors, to get the official endorsement from the chain of command (and have now also trained almost 100 members currently on deployment).
What does this mean? Canadian Armed Forces units can now contract SPCG to deliver our Front-Line Workshop, building a stronger and more resilient CAF. We are honoured to help enact change.
